Today, the day that the clocks were moved forward, we woke to 15cms of snow. This is not the spring weather we wanted but it came down slow and steady and by morning we were covered.
Earlier this week I had planted some of the garden, moved some shrubs and did general spring clean-up in the yard.
Along the highway to Ivano-Frankivsk a forest provided the locals with some extra cash. Here they are selling birch brooms as well as birch juice. The sap is pasturized and lemon or another flavor added and preserved as a refreshing summer drink.
This was the scene last week on the streets of Kolomaya. These flowers are on the protected list and the authorities do fine the people for picking them but everyone cannot be stopped as there are more sellers than police.
